Breede River Canoe Marathon 2018 eNewsletter #1

Dear Breede paddler                                                                             19 July 2018

Wow, after a great Berg, where the new team format was well established, it is time to set sights on the Breede K2 season!

The drought looks to have been broken and we have had some excellent trips on the river in glorious full conditions. There is every reason to believe that it will be a great Breede.

First things first – diarise the date as it is slightly earlier than usual – 25/26 August.

The great news is that the race will double as the SA K2 and WP K2 Champs, so there will be medals on offer in all the age groups and classes!

Nurture a novice
The 2018 Breede is all about getting newcomers to the sport excited about paddling, and what better way than to get them into the back of a K2 to enjoy two days in the beautiful Breede valley.

Once you have a novice keen, get them into the boat, do the training paddles and time trials, and get them fired up for their first major race. It will be an experience they will never forget!
